Recruiting roundup: Illini’s new Chester Frazier-related offers

The days of Illinois basketball focusing its recruiting efforts inside its borders and neighboring Midwestern states are long gone.

Recently departed assistant coach Orlando Antigua helped the Illini land two blockbuster recruits from New York, center Kofi Cockburn and point guard Andre Curbelo. Both players were originally from the Caribbean, and Antigua helped Illinois land players from all around the world.

New Illinois assistant Chester Frazier is a Baltimore native who spent the past two seasons at Virginia Tech. Frazier is an energetic recruiter who brings new contacts and territories into play for the Illini – namely the southeast and greater Washington D.C. area.
