A new era of Illinois women's basketball tips off on Friday night. The Illini host Quincy for an ehbiti8on game at State Farm Center at 7:00 p.m. CT.

New coach Shauna Green makes her debut on the Illini bench. Green was named the 10th head coach of the Fighting Illini women’s basketball program back in March. She previewed the game vs. Quincy.

Orange and Blue News also spoke with junior forward Kendall Bostic and junior guard Makira Cook prior to practice on Thursday.

Bostic was the leading rebounder in the Big Ten last season and was an honorable mention All Conference pick by the media. The only Illini to start all 27 games in 2022, Bostic averaged 6.7 points and 11.4 rebounds while logging 29.2 minutes per game

A transfer from Dayton, Cook played for Green and was a second-team All-A10 selection and the conference's Most Improved Player.. She averaged 14.8 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game for the Flyers.
