TE Robinson breaks out this spring

One of the off-season's breakout performers is Aurora (Ill.) Waubonsie Valley tight end Charles Robinson.

A long and lean athlete, Robinson has showcased good hands and athleticism this spring.

"It's been productive,” Robinson said. “Recruiting's been kind of slow lately but everyone's been telling me I've posted some good numbers.”

Robinson has offers from Northern Illinois, Iowa State, Mississippi State, Wyoming and Miami (Ohio) among interest from many more.

"I have to say the best part about recruiting has been meeting the new people and making a ton of football players that's working towards the same goal as me," Robinson said.

Others in contact with Robinson include Illinois, Temple, and numerous FCS programs. With Illinois, he's expecting to hear more from them soon.

"I have been talking with the wide receivers coach Andrew Hayes-Stoker and they are going to come over to me this spring," Robinson said.

Robinson is being recruited primarily as a tight end, but he can also lineup wide and create mismatches. He wants to get in the weight room during the off-season and add bulk,

Look for Robinson to get out on the road and check out some schools.

"With spring visits, I'm looking forward to just going to the colleges and seeing which one is the best for me,” he said. “Plus, to narrow down my decision. I'll be looking mostly for a place with a good culture."
