Running back pledges to Illini

Illinois landed their fourth player in the class of 2015 on Tuesday when running back Reggie Corbin pledged to the Illini.
The Illini were first to offer Corbin, and he visited the campus in March. It was the vibe he got on that visit that really set Illinois apart for Corbin

"When I went out on my visit it really felt like home," Corbin said. "I appreciated all the love I got from the team and the coaches. They made me want to be part of Illini-Nation."
Corbin is a 5-foot-10, 190-pound all-purpose back from Washington (DC) Gonzaga. He rushed for 1,103 yards and 12 touchdowns as a junior. According to Corbin, his versatility was a major attraction for the Illini staff.
"They think l fit well in the offense because I can play anywhere," Corbin said. "I can move into the slot and I can run the ball."
Tight ends / running backs coach Alex Golesh was the lead recruiter.
"From day one Coach Golesh was the type of coach that I could talk to about anything," Corbin said. "I could talk to him about football, school, and other things off of the field."
Corbin is the second 2015 running back to choose Illinois, joining in-state 3-star Dre Brown from DeKalb (Ill.). Now that he's committed, Corbin said he plans to make another trip to Champaign for a visit in two weeks.
Corbin chose Illinois over offers from Marshall, Toledo, Old Dominion and Washington State and interest from Georgia Tech, Maryland, Rutgers, Duke, and others. No other visits are planned for Corbin and he says he is a solid verbal.
"I'm all done with recruiting," Corbin said. "I'm a Fighting Illini."
