2019 athlete Jake Smith from Scottsdale (AZ) Notre Dame Prep is having a breakout season as a junior. Smith has led his team to a 4-0 record and is collecting Power 5 offers, including an offer from Illinois.

The new Illinois offer was delivered by Director of Player Personnel James Kirkland on Monday.

“I sent my highlights to James Kirkland and he responded through email,” Smith said. “We kept exchanging emails throughout the week. He called my head coach and told him that he wanted to talk to me so I called him he said that they are going to offer me a scholarship.”
