Illinois first to offer Olges
After a disappointing year of in-state recruiting, the Illini staff appears to be making a large push in the Class of 2019 with a handful of offers being extended to Illinois high schools prospect this week.
One of those offers belongs to Winnetka (Ill.) New Trier athlete Duke Olges. The 6-foot-5, 240-pound prospect received the offer earlier today.
“This morning, Coach (Mike) Phair and Coach (Bob) Ligashesky came to my school and met with me,” Olges said. “They caught up with me about what happened during the dead period and over the break, and then Coach Phair just came out and told me. He said they really want me in their program and they’re really interested, and then he just made the offer and got straight to the point.”
