2019 prospect Ralen Goforth of Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco may still be in the beginning stages of his recruiting process, but he has already accumulated a profound list of offers from schools such as Arizona State, Nebraska, TCU, UCLA, USC, and Washington, among others.

The Illini are one of the most recent schools to offer the 6-foot-2, 215-pound safety, as assistant coach Hardy Nickerson delivered the news over a phone call just last week.

"I was on my way to a workout with one of my football coaches and he told me that Coach Nickerson from the University of Illinois wanted to speak with me and to give him a call,” Goforth said. “So, I called him and we had a great conservation, and he told me the scheme they run and that my skill set would fit that perfectly. And after a great talk, he then offered me a scholarship.”
