Lovie Smith picked up his seventh commitment in the class of 2018 with a pledge from 2-star cornerback Ron Hardge Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) Cardinal Gibbons.

Hardge hales from the same school as another recent Illini commit, wide receiver Carlos Sandy.
