Quincy (Ill.) four-star running back Jirehl Brock is pegged as one of the top junior prospects in the state of Illinois, and he has lived up to the hype in the early portion of the season.

Despite a shoulder injury that sidelined him almost a game and a half, Brock has rushed for 434 yards through the first four games of the season, including a 224-yard, four touchdown performance against Galesburg last Friday.

“The season started off slow with two losses to Belleville West and Alton and my shoulder injury during those games,” Brock said. “The first game was a close one, but I got hurt in the third quarter and so did several other of our starters, so it didn’t end the way we wanted. And then I wasn’t able to play the next week because of my shoulder injury again, and that game didn’t go very well.”
