Heavy Big Ten interest for OL Keegan

2019 offensive lineman Trevor Keegan of Crystal Lake (Ill.) South was one of the standout underclassmen at Sunday's Under Armour All-American Camp at Glenbrook North.

There were several things on Keegan's radar to show during the camp.

"Definitely my athleticism,” Keegan said. “I've gotten faster. I go to my trainer three to four times a week and do agility and speed.”

Measuring in at 6-foot-6, 300-pounds Keegan has lost around twenty pounds in the last several months. That's helped him develop his athleticism.

He relished the opportunity to go one-on-one against upperclassmen at the UA event.

“Since I'm a young guy I'd like to beat the older kids and show them that I've put in work in the offseason," Keegan said.

Keegan previously held offers from Northwestern and Minnesota, and he just added Indiana and Purdue this week. He’s also getting heavy interest from all over.

"It's pretty crazy. There is always a coach talking to my coach. Since I'm so young they have to go through my coach. It's a humbling opportunity," Keegan said.

According to a report by EdgyTim.com, schools that have been in to see Keegan include Penn State, Iowa, Purdue, Indiana, Wisconsin, and Vanderbilt.

He’s still wide open and it’s very early in his recruitment, but the Big Ten schools from the State of Illinois have caught his eye.

"I like the in-state schools,” Keegan said. “At Illinois, Coach Smith is a great guy. You can already tell he's going to change the program. I've heard a lot from Northwestern.” Summer plans include more visits for Keegan.

"This summer I'm going to try and do a lot with camps and I'm going to try and get out and see some ACC and SEC schools," Keegan said.
