RCS: Henderson goes one-on-one

OrangeandBlueNews.com got our first up-close look at Carol Stream (Ill.) Glenbard North defensive back Tyrik Henderson at the Rivals Camp Series last weekend.

Henderson didn’t disappoint.

Listed as a safety on Rivals.com, we like the 5-foot-10, 160-pound Henderson as a lock-down corner in the class of 2018.

Henderson was happy with his performance at the camp.

“I think I did pretty well,” he said. “There was a good group of wide receivers. I got to play against some of the top competition in the nation.”

Still looking for his first scholarship offer, the lanky Henderson plans to hit the camp circuit in June. He has an invitation to attend one of the Illini’s satellite camps in Chicago-land.

“I got camp invites to Purdue, LSU, and Illinois,” Henderson said. “Coach Tim McGarigle has been in contact me from Illinois.

It's still very early in the recruiting process for Henderson. He has no list of schools yet.

"I’m still trying to figure things out," Henderson said.

College coaches will definitely start to take notice. Henderson has the look as one of the top defenders in the state in the 2018 class.

Henderson put together a solid sophomore campaign in 2015 as a varsity starter.

“I had 39 solo tackles, 4 interceptions, and two fumble recoveries,” he said.
