Point guard Miller the next big thing in Peoria

Peoria (Ill.) Manual freshman Adam Miller has all the tools to be the next big thing in Peoria and become a high-level recruit. The left point guard one of the top 2020 prospect in the state of Illinois

Miller currently holds two offers but he expects that to change real soon.

"Right now, Illinois and Bradley have offered, but I have several others showing me a lot more interest like Kansas, Nebraska, Virginia and Tulane," Miller said.

The AAU circuit has just begun, and Miller is off to a great start running with the Mac Irvin Fire.

The previous Illinois coaching staff offered Miller last year and he visited for a game during the season. He’s anxious to get to know new coach Brad Underwood.

Expect a trip to Champaign sometime soon.

"First thing I want to do is get down there to meet him, see what he brings to the table and his plans of what to do with my offer," Miller said.

Illinois has been successful mining the Peoria area for talent over the year, including signing Manual guard Da’Monte Williams in the class of 2016.

Miller is aware of that history, but he’s in no hurry to make an early commitment.

“I love the Peoria pipeline,” he said. “I don't want to rush into anything too early, though. I want to see what else is out there too.”

Injuries to Williams and other Manual upperclassmen put Miller in the spotlight right away, and he didn’t disappoint.

After just finishing up his freshman season, Miller understands there is a lot more to learn and improve at.

"I like how things are going for me, but I must improve on my defense and I want to raise my level of basketball IQ,” Miller said.
