Illinois reached into the Peach State this week to offer three-star wide receiver Justin Menard from McDonough (GA) Eagles Landing Christian.

The versatile Menard is known for his speed, something Illinois needs to plug into its spread attack. The Illinois offer came when Menard was practicing with his high school track team.

"The offer went down (Tuesday)," Menard said. "I was outside for track, and coach (Andrew) Hayes-Stoker said to give him a call. He asked me which position I want to play, and I told him wide receiver. He said 'good' because I have an offer from them as a receiver."
