Rockford Auburn offensive lineman Vederian Lowe is one of the top junior prospects in the state of Illinois.
Lowe stands 6-5, 352-pounds and just made the trip to Solider Field to check out Illinois take on Northwestern.
"I liked the game a lot for the time I was there because we left at halftime," Lowe said. "But it was a good atmosphere all around."
Lowe made the trip with several of his teammates and the group only ended up staying for the first half.
"It was nice they played in Soldier Field, I haven't been there in a while," Lowe said.
So far, Lowe has one offer, from the Illini and has seen the athletes take the field several times. He's paid special attention to the offensive line.
"I have seen Illinois offensive line play plenty of times and they are a really good line," Lowe said.
As for where Lowe might project, he's open to where the Illini would place him.
"I think that the coaches would fit me in the way they would want me. But I think that I would go very well with their program," Lowe said.
Minnesota, Kansas and Iowa State are all other schools that Lowe has been hearing from quite a bit.
"Recruiting is going all right overall. The colleges have only been sending things like letters, but nothing too spectacular," Lowe said.
Of course, Lowe heard about the university extending the contract of Illinois head coach Bill Cubit while on the trip.
"I just heard about it on the trip, and I think that it is a good step for them," Lowe said.
