Illinois assistant coach Bob Ligashesky made a trip to Chicago (Ill.) Phillips last week to visit 2019 prospect Fabian McCray.
The visit concluded with an offer for the 6-foot-2, 180-pound athlete, who also received offers from Ball State, Iowa State, and Purdue earlier in the week.
“Coach Ligashesky came to the school and broke the news, which meant a lot to me,” McCray said. “I like him. He is a nice guy, and he makes sure to keep in touch so that we can further our relationship. With him offering and the other schools, it means a lot to me knowing that all of my hard work is paying of.”
