2015 OL Quinn Oseland checks in

The 2014 Illinois football recruiting class is in the books, but there's no breaks in the recruiting game. Attention now turns to the class of 2015.
Adding quantity and quality to the offensive line is a high priority for the Illini next signing day - they will likely take as many as six O-linemen in the class - and one top target is downstate tackle Quinn Oseland from Springfield (Ill.) Sacred-Heart Griffin.

Check back with OrangeandBlueNews.com later this week for a complete breakdown of 2015 offensive linemen on the Illini's recruiting board.
Oseland (6-foot-6, 307 pounds) checks in as a 3-star prospect and the No. 13 player in Illinois in his class. He was recently at Illinois for a junior day, along with another downstate lineman Gabe Megginson from Jacksonville.
"It was fun, and it was nice being able to spend time with the players and what it's like to be at college," Oseland said. "Me and Gabe were there at the same time. Tim Cleary was our host. We hung out at his place with Ted Karras and Simon Cvjanovic."
The coaching staff also used the opportunity to sell their program to the visiting recruits. Oseland's potential position coach A.J. Ricker got some one-on-one time with him.
"I got to talk to Coach Beckman and Coach Ricker quite a bit," Oseland said. "Coach Beckman always talks about how much he wants to keep the in-state kids home. I like that about him."
Illinois signee Malik Turner is one of Oseland's teammates at Sacred-Heart Griffin. The two helped guide SHG to an IHSA state championship last fall.
Though Turner doesn't push Oseland, the two have talked about the possibility of playing together at the next level.
Currently, Oseland sports BCS offers from Illinois, Minnesota, Mississippi St., and Oregon, along with interest from several others.
"I'm probably hearing the most from Michigan State, Wisconsin, Missouri, Vanderbilt, and Oregon," he said.
