Parker makes the switch

After visiting Iowa this past weekend, St. Louis running back Jonathan Parker, who was previously committed to Tulsa, officially made the switch to the Hawkeyes today. The 5-foot-10, 180-pound prospect from Christian Brothers College High School sent in his national of letter of intent to the Iowa coaching staff early this morning.

"The biggest factor was that I came to the conclusion wherever you go, you have to be happy and judging off when I went to Tulsa and when I went to Iowa, I felt more comfortable with Iowa," said Parker. "And it's also closer to home."

Parker had been verbally committed to Tulsa since September, but picked up a scholarship offer from the Hawkeyes last month after a big senior year that saw him rush for 1,094 yards and 18 touchdowns. He also had 13 catches for 223 yards and the Iowa coaching staff likes his receiving skills as well.

"They are going to play me in the slot and at the running back position," Parker said. "I'll play wherever they need me most."

Parker is commitment No. 21 for the Iowa Hawkeyes in the Class of 2013.
