Izzo gaining serious ground with Bluiett

EAST LANSING - A twisting, turning 2014 Michigan State basketball recruiting campaign curved in a new direction this week when Tom Izzo came on strong again for one of the best shooters in the country, Trevon Bluiett of Indianapolis Park Tudor High School.

Bluiett is ranked the No. 45 player in the country by Rivals.com. He committed to UCLA over Purdue, Michigan, Xavier, Indiana, Butler and Arizona. But Bluiett reopened the process in early October, with plans of going to college closer to his Midwestern home.

"It just him it," Bluiett's father, Reynaldo Bluiett told SpartanMag.com on Thursday. "It came to reality and it was like he said, 'I want to stick around (closer to home).'"

Meanwhile, Michigan has moved on with its perimeter recruiting, and Michigan State is opening new avenues and revisiting some old ones.
