Bulldogs grab instate punter

With Baker Swedenburg entering his final season in Starkville, Mississippi State was searching for a punter in 2014.

Not anymore.

The Bulldogs secured Columbia (Miss.) Academy standout Logan Cooke on Thursday becoming the seventh commitment in the class.

"This was the main offer that I was waiting to get," Cooke said. "It's an instate schools just few hours from home and you can't get much better than that. I love State, the coaching staff, the campus and the atmosphere of Mississippi State football and I'm proud to be a part of that family now."

The 6-foot-5, camped in Starkville the last two days and met with head coach Dan Mullen, who also serves as the Bulldogs special teams coordinator, on Thursday afternoon along with his family to make his pledge.
