Walker talks Kent State

When members of the Kent State coaching staff visited Brandon Walker to watch film of the 2014 prospect, they liked what they saw. So much so that they decided to give the Carman Ainsworth his first Division-I scholarship offer.

"They just came up to the school and visited and pretty much talked about the school," Walker said of Kent State's visit. "They watched my film and they said they like what they've seen and they just offered me."

The interest between the Golden Flashes and the Flint, Michigan native appears to be mutual, with Walker stating that he was planning on taking a visit to KSU to check out the campus.

"They're a good school. They looked pretty good last year. They're a pretty good school," Walker said. "We're going to get a little timeline together of when I'm going to visit."

At 6-foot-2, 185 pounds, Walker is being recruited as a wide receiver. He said that the Kent State staff told him that they were impressed with his hands and his work ethic on the field.

"They said they like the way I work and my ball skills and how I'm a great athlete and I just go to work," Walker said. "I don't like to lose. I go 110 percent every play. I just give the fans what they like to see."

While Kent State is his only current offer, Walker is also reporting interest from Ball State, Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Western Michigan, Bowling Green, Akron, and Michigan State. Should more offers role in, Walker said that several factors will play into his college decision.

"I'm looking at the program and if it's been in the rebuilding stage or if it's been winning and how can I help them and if I'm going to play right away," Walker said, when asked what's important to him in a school.

As he prepares for his upcoming senior season, Walker said that he doesn't have a timetable on when he plans on making his final choice.

"I'm just going to wait to see how many offers I get and make my decision and talk it over with my family," he said.
