Terps firmly in play for DeMatha's Deal
Four months later, the play is still fresh in his mind. It was a scoreless tie early during the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference semifinals between DeMatha (Md.) and Gonzaga (D.C.), and the Stags were on the move inside the 40-yard line. That's when burly running back Taiwan Deal took an up-the-gut handoff, bulldozed a host of defenders Marshawn Lynch style and out-ran the secondary for a 30-yard touchdown. Deal would go on to rush for close to 200 yards and score four more times that day as DeMatha advanced to the title game with a 40-27 victory.
