DE Soto has been to BC

Shakir Soto is earning a reputation as one of the top defensive ends in Pennsylvania and the offers are pouring in. He visited Boston College about a month ago and talked about the Eagles this week.

The 6-foot-4, 235-pound defensive end put up big numbers as a junior and found himself in opponent's backfield often.

Boston College, Maryland, Pitt and Virginia are just some of the schools that have offered.

"I was up there at Boston College about three or four weeks ago for an unofficial visit," Soto told EagleAction.com. "I was already up there for a UMass junior day and since I was already in Massachusetts I figured I might as well go to BC.

"I met the defensive line coach, Coach Commissiong, and I met Coach Washington there also. We sat down and talked and we went on a tour.

"It's a beautiful place. I liked the way the buildings are made all church-like. It was beautiful."

Are the Eagles on Soto's radar moving forward?

"They're one of the schools I'm going to consider down the road," he affirmed.

Soto said he doesn't have a list of favorites largely because he's hoping to pick up offers from some schools that have been talking to him lately.

"I know there are a couple of SEC schools recruiting me, like Vanderbilt. They're recruiting me and they're really interested. If they offer that would open the door for more SEC schools to offer me," he explained.
