It's been an exciting week in the world of Ohio State football recruiting as the Buckeyes have already landed a pair of four-star offensive linemen in the 2012 class. On Monday, news broke that five-star junior defensive back Cameron Burrows would make his announcement on Thursday. Now on Tuesday evening, Middletown (Ohio) junior athlete Jalin Marshall has also set his announcement date. The 6-foot, 190-pound prospect says that he is ready to end his recruitment.

"I'll be announcing on January 31st," said Marshall. "I'm just ready to get it over with. I have a pretty good idea of where I want to go and me and my family decided we're ready to go forward with (the decision), I'm ready to do it."

The 31st is the day before National Signing Day for the 2012 recruiting class so with Marshall being a 2013 prospect, the timing seems a little odd, but there is a method to the madness.

"It's my Dad's birthday," he said. "I just recently thought about it and I actually decided on it a couple of weeks ago. Me and my Mom talked about it and we thought it would be good to do it on his birthday."

Marshall added that his decision will come down to five schools.

"My finalists are Notre Dame, Ohio State, Cincinnati, Tennessee, and Alabama," he said. "I'm just going to put my announcement out there, there won't be a ceremony."

At this time, Marshall says he has no plans of making any more college visits between now and his decision as he focuses on his junior basketball season.

"I'm just shutting it down and focusing on basketball," Marshall said. "I'm just trying to win a couple of games for my team."

Marshall is the No. 2 ranked prospect in the BuckeyeGrove.com class of 2013 Ohio rankings and is expected to be among the most highly ranked Ohio prospects when the initial Rivals.com rankings are released.
