Since taking the head coaching job last Monday, much of Urban Meyer's focus has been on trying to put together a strong finish to the 2012 recruiting class. Still, Meyer and company aren't ignoring the 2013 class as a new offer went out to junior running back Ty Isaac on Tuesday. The 6-foot-3, 215-pound prospect from Joliet (Ill.) Catholic is one of the Midwest's elite prospects for the 2013 class.

"I've been to Ohio State a few times and I really like the campus and Columbus itself so I thought it was a real cool place," explained Isaac. "To get offered by them is great and then you add a coach with that kind of track record. I don't know too much about him but obviously we're going to get in touch and start that relationship."

As junior film has made its way out, Isaac has started to blow up recently, grabbing some big offers from the likes of Iowa, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, and Wisconsin, among others.

"I've got around 12 offers right now," he explained. "It's a really exciting time period. You're out there doing what you can on the field and these people from all these universities are letting you know that you have the ability to play for them. It's really cool and I think all of the offers are big, just being able to play at the next level."

Isaac is coming off of a junior season that was about as dominant as any player in the nation. Isaac rushed for nearly 2,700 yards and scored 51 total touchdowns.

"We had a really good offensive line this year," Isaac said. "Everything just worked out great. We didn't win state but we ended up getting there and it was a successful season overall."

Right now Isaac says he is in the early stages of his recruitment and is still learning more about the schools that are recruiting him.

"It's wide open right now, everybody is the same," he explained. "I haven't had time to sit down and see where I'm really at with everything. I'm hoping to visit a lot of schools by late spring and then hopefully make my decision sometime in the summer and I think I'm on pace for that."
