Q&A with Billy Humphrey

One Bulldog eagerly awaiting this weekend's matchup against No. 16 Gonzaga this weekend is Dacula native guard Billy Humphrey. Humphrey grew up a few miles from the Gwinnett Center Arena and UGASports caught up with the sophomore to talk about big game this weekend.

UGASports: How important is this game and the upcoming matchups against top tier programs to proving how good this Georgia team is?

Humphrey: "We take things one game at a time and we look at this one as a good chance to prove ourselves. Wake Forest was a good win for us, but it is not enough to show people we are ready to be a top 25 team. Winning a game against Gonzaga and then winning against Georgia Tech and Clemson on the road will hopefully make people realize that we mean business. A game like this will be huge for us if we can take control."

UGASports: Do you think this will be the statement game for this team?

Humphrey: "Yes, I think this is our turn-around point and if we win this game it will be a turn-around point for us."

UGASports: How much does this game mean to you being close to home against a highly ranked team in a building that you played in during high school?

Humphrey: "People do what they need to do to get amped up for a game, but I think we need to do what we did against Wake Forest. We all came together and got each other involved from the start in the tunnel. We let each other know that we are here for each other and it was time to go to work."
